What we are looking for - * Excellent internal customer service * Professional phone etiquette * Willingness to learn new processes and ability to help educate others * Ability to work in a fast pace, highly regulated medical setting * Great attention to detail and organization skills * Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly This position is responsible for receiving all specimens from within the hospital and ancillary sites, ensuring accuracy of labeling and identifiers and communicating any additional needs/changes per process or Tech direction. This position will also be trained to perform phlebotomy and collect samples directly from patients of all ages (newborn to geriatric). Will perform phlebotomy on weekends or as needed. Adheres to MercyOne Northeast Iowa's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne Northeast Iowa. Basic skill set. Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred. Mandatory Reporter. Valid IA driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)( CMC and SMH only). Intermediate language, basic math, intermediate reasoning ability. Personal computer. Ability to work as a team player. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
