Physical Therapist Assistant
UnityPoint Health – Allen Inpatient Therapy
PRN As Needed; 8 hr. shifts
The physical therapist assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment to inpatients and/or outpatients. The physical therapist assistant is responsible for implementing and improving physical therapy services and providing appropriate documentation and billing for such services.

Treats patients in need of physical therapy services and participates completion of treatment sessions per established treatment plans and collaborates with supervising physical therapist
Produces appropriate documentation and billing in compliance with all third-party payor and regulatory guidelines
Provides oversite and supervision of other support personnel and physical therapy students.
Completes appropriate communication with all patients, caregivers, fellow staff, and referring providers/clinicians.
Coordinates with other staff and caregivers to provide optimal care to patient including care coordination, patient care conferences, and scheduling.
Assists and advises supervisory personnel, management, and administration in development and implementation of quality physical therapy services, programs, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited educational program in physical therapy
Current license, in good standing, to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the state of Iowa, or eligible.
Read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English
Possess basic computer skills and knowledge.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
1-2 years’ experience
