Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, works collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome/goal-based patient care, enhance quality patient care, and improve the patient experience. Observes and reports the patient's response and progress to interventions. Performs clerical duties that support the daily activities of nursing units. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne. Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties. No prior experience required but strongly preferred: Current, or pending, enrollment in nursing or other related clinical healthcare program (ie.: respiratory therapy, paramedic, etc.). BLS, Mandatory Reporter, and verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of Nurse Aide I course or successful completion of the Competency Test. Cardiac monitoring course and select APEX modules within 6 months of hire. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) within 6 months of hire.
