Musco Lighting Safety Coordinator in Urbandale, Iowa

Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Address safety questions and concerns arising from all Des Moines locations, as well as Oskaloosa locations as needed

  • Provide Online / Classroom / Hands On Training and educational opportunities on safety topics for Team Members.

  • Provide Support and Documentation to Sales, Project Management, and Engineering with Site Specific Safety Plans, Fall Protection Work Plan, Work Site Evaluations, and Other Safety Related Documentation.

  • Complete / Maintain 3rd party safety requirement programs (Browz, BNSF, Erailsafe, Cargill, ISNetworld,Etc.)

  • Responsible for Recordkeeping of Governmental Agencies –OSHA, EPA & DNR

  • Assist with development of safety plans and goals for the Corporation.

  • Provide Ergonomic Assessments for all Des Moines Team Members.

  • Conduct Equipment / Site Inspections to ensure compliance of safety regulations and policies.

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance of safety regulations and policies.

  • Work closely with product development to address product compliance issues.

  • Actively be involved in accident investigations to determine root cause and necessary preventative measures

  • Provide incident documentation and safety reports and updates to leadership team.

  • Assist in worker’s compensation reporting and case management.

  • Facilitate and organize a safety committee.

  • Conduct / Coordinate any Industrial hygiene Tests for Des Moines locations.

  • Review all new chemicals for safety concerns and maintain the SDS database.

  • Responsible for the recruitment and organization of training for First Aid Providers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree and three years of safety experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Specifications:

  • Successful experience creating and implementing policies and projects.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work with a variety of people, both within Musco and outside the company.

  • Experience facilitating group meetings and processes.

  • Previous experience with worker’s compensation and accident investigation

  • Ability to lead others without direct supervisory responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
