Your Responsibilities
As a Functional Safety Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA (Remote), you will.
Support ISG Functional Safety Activities and Projects
Interpret and apply functional safety standards and principles to ensure compliance and consistency across ISG.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop solutions to meet functional safety goals
Become familiar with and support the PS&C deliverables of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) for ISG products and systems.
What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)
2 or more years of professional engineering experience
Experience performing electronic hardware, software, or system design, testing and/or analysis work (through internships, education, or practical experience)
Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
Interest in systems engineering practices and processes
What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)
Product design or test experience in the Agriculture, Construction, Forestry, and/or Off-road equipment industries
Experience with systems engineering practices and methodologies
Experience with functional safety standards (like ISO 25119, ISO 19014, or ISO 26262)
Experience reading and interpreting standards & regulations
Experience working in a cross functional team environment
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
