Description:

Under limited direction of the supervisor and with medical direction of the radiologist, carries out appropriate procedures and maintains related records; provides general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting films and provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff.

Weekend Package: Fri, Sat and Sun 7p to 7am

What you will do:

  • Carries out prescribed CT procedures to produce images of designated area, and completing development of exposed film.

  • Performs and maintains records of equipment calibration; carries out necessary quality control to insure that performance standards are satisfied.

  • Assists in scheduling patients.

  • Maintains records related to patient diagnosis, equipment maintenance, and unit workload.

  • Maintains supplies and outdates for the CT area.

  • Assists radiologist in reviewing films.

  • Participates in instruction of student technologists, and provides general education to hospital staff in CT procedures.

  • Participates in standby on call coverage of the unit as required.

  • Under the direction of the radiologist, injects contrast materials as needed.

  • Uses high-pressure injector for contrast injections as required.

  • Properly screens patients to prevent adverse patient occurrence and maintains patient permits and contrast forms.

  • Recognizes and communicates issues/occurrences utilizing established lines of authority, and assists in identifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes

  • Actively participates in department meetings, committees, conferences, and in services.

  • Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients. Complies with Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.

  • Participates in ongoing education that includes annual training on dose optimization tools for adult and pediatric patients (i.e. image gently/image wisely).

What we are looking for:

  • Must be ARRT registered and a graduate of Radiologic School.

  • Must be CT board registered within one year of position.

  • Prior CT experience preferred.

  • Must maintain BLS certification

  • Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.

  • Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
