Mahaska Health Partnership Radiologic Technologist in Oskaloosa, Iowa
At Mahaska Health, the Radiologic Technologist provides patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
We are hiring 2 full-time positions, hours include:
A: Wed. 7A-1:30P
Thurs. 8:30A-6P Fri. 8:30A-6P Sat. 7A-7PB: Sun. 7A-7P
Mon. 8:30A-6P Tues. 8:30A-6P Wed. 11:30A-6PEssential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
Prepares patients for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education and proper positioning according to the department procedure manual.
Practices safety measures in radiography including protecting patients from excessive radiation during examinations.
Documents pregnancy status.
Confirms patient identification by two patient identifiers.
Checks for proper orders, lab results, signed informed consents, and patient preps for all radiology procedures.
Administers contrast media i.e., orally, IV, rectally under the supervision of a provider.
Documents type of IV contrast media, amount, date, and time of administration.
Performs CT procedures as required by department workflow.
Performs surgical and portable examinations as assigned.
Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination.
Processes radiographic images and examines for quality. Documents repeat images in accordance with QA program.
Prepares patients’ images for interpretation by the radiologist.
Keeps all records necessary for the quality assurance program of the department.
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Instruct students on clinical radiographic skills.
Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
Practices proper procedure in exam scheduling, order entering, charging, logging procedures, film filing, radiology report distribution, and releasing of images to providers or patients.
Maintains exam rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
Conduct self in accordance with Mahaska Health Partnership's confidentiality policy; ensuring to follow all MHP training guidelines in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
Follows departmental and hospital policies, procedures, chain of command, lines of communication, and compliance standards.
Must have knowledge of applicable standards and codes.
Attend required in-service programs and staff meetings.
All other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology and registered by the AmericanmRegistry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible.
Must hold a current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Required to be current in BLS (Basic Life Support) by the standards of the American Heart Association.
Required to show proof of having completed the Mandatory Reporter course at the time of hire or attend within 6 months of the start date.
Must adhere to all training requirements as mandated by Federal, State, and Professional licensure and regulatory standards.
