Qualifications: Completion of Certified Nurse Aide course (must be active on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry) or high school diploma required. Central Sterile Technician Certificate preferred. BLS certified
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm, may vary.
The central Service Instrument Technician is responsible for the OR case carts being properly set up and assures that all the instruments necessary to do a particular case are on the cart, sterilized and ready for surgical use. The Instrument Technician is responsible for accurate instrument inventory and assembly for sterilization. The Instrument Technician also cleans, decontaminates and distributes patient reusable supplies and equipment to the patient care floor area, ER department, Specialty Clinic department and Osage Clinic area.
