days 645-315. Call rotation on weekdays, weekends and holidays
About The Job:
Assists the circulating nurse in assessing the patients physical, psychological, social, spiritual, environmental, and educational needs and helps to develop and implement the plan of care based on sound nursing principles, health center policy and patient/family needs. (Continuous Learner) Provides care to all surgical patients in accordance with the operating room’s performance standards, physician preference cards, and the AORN Standards of Care and Practice. (Adherence to Policy) Assists in setting up rooms, secures safe transport of the patient if needed, confirms correctness of the surgical site, prepares the pre-operative site, instruments the case, manages the sterile field and specimens, and turns the room around under the supervision of the circulating nurse. (Tem Work, Communication, Adaptability) Serves as a steward for the hospital’s human and material resources. Meets productivity expectations of unit/department as defined by unit manager. Identifies accurate changes on surgeons preference cards. Utilizes and maintains appropriate supplies during the case and in the department. (Team Work, Adherence to Policy) Develops and maintains knowledge/skills in all surgical specialties (exception: heart, neuro have dedicated teams). Willing to share knowledge. Completes routine assignments in a timely manner. Takes responsibility/accountability for assigned tasks/duties. Uses available time productively. (Initiative, Continuous Learner) Communicates consistently with colleagues in a professional and respectful manner and accepts assignments willingly. (Communication, Initiative) Adapts positively to the everchanging medical care environment by supporting technology and process changes. What we are looking for:
Education:
Graduate of a surgical technologist program is required; or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience. Certification as a surgical technologist preferred. LPN license required if applicable.
Experience
Previous surgical technologist experience preferred.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
