Trinity Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Hospice - Full Time - Nights in Mason City, Iowa

Hours:7p-7:30a, every 3rd weekend/every 3rd holiday.

About The Job:

The licensed practical nurse provides care to the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families at end of life under the supervision of the registered nurse.

What we are looking for:

Education [formal]:

Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

Current LPN licensure in the state of Iowa required.

Hospice and Palliative Care experience preferred.


Preferred demonstration of nursing competence in an acute / long-term care patient care setting.

Preferred experience in caring for terminally ill patients/families including hospice or home care.

Special Skills and Competencies:

Demonstrates empathy and belief in the hospice philosophy.

Demonstrates ability to work independently, make autonomous decisions, yet function within a team structure.

Demonstrates good organizational skills.

Demonstrates a commitment to individual development by attending meetings and in-services.

Obtain Port Access Certification within one year of hire date.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
