About The Job:
The Lead Pharmacist Assistant performs all duties of the Pharmacist Assistant, the Inventory Technician, and the Cancer Center Pharmacist Assistant as well as supervisory duties. Supports productivity, quality and safety efforts by accurately operating production equipment assisting in troubleshooting, rectifying issues and participating in development of pharmacy technicians through training and ongoing development.

Education
Required:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Preferred:
Completion of Pharmacy Technician training course and/or Certification.
Certification and Registration
Required:
Registration: Registration with the State of Iowa as a Certified Pharmacy Technician is required to be validated prior to commencement of employment per IA Board of Pharmacy Rules 657-3.3.
AND
Pharmacy Technician Certification: National certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), National Healthcareer Association, or other National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board as approved by Iowa Board of Pharmacy.
OR
Registration: Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist-Intern per Board of Pharmacy rules: "Pharmacist-intern" or "intern" means a person enrolled in a college of pharmacy or actively pursuing a pharmacy degree, or as otherwise provided by the board, who is registered with the board for the purpose of obtaining instruction in the practice of pharmacy from a preceptor pursuant to Iowa Code section 155A.6. "Pharmacist-intern" includes a graduate of an approved college of pharmacy, or a foreign graduate who has established educational equivalency pursuant to the requirements of rule 657-4.7(155A), who is registered with the board for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a pharmacist in Iowa. "Pharmacist-intern" may include an individual participating in a residency for fellowship program in Iowa, whether or not the individual is licensed as a pharmacist in another state.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of (site-specific) pharmacy experience required or Minimum 2 years as a Pharmacist Assistant or at the discretion of Manager or
Supervisor based on employee's skill set, aptitude and leadership abilities.
Special Skills and Competencies:Tact, diplomacy.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.
Must read, write and/or speak English
Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate peak volume times and adjust to changing needs.
