Hours: Full Time, working Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Position is currently on-site with opportunity to work from home (remote) in the future.

About The Job:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance of coding through auditing, training, and monitoring Clinic coding staff

  • Conducts quality monitoring of provider documentation and code selection

  • Acts as mentor and coach for coding staff

  • Provides or facilitates training opportunities

  • Serves as member of the Clinic Support Services Department Leadership Team and Clinic Compliance and Integrity Team

What we are looking for:

Education [formal]:

  • College coursework in coding, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology

  • Current coding certification required (or willingness to obtain within two years): Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Will consider other credentials.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years coding experience

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Self-motivation and ability to remain objective in conducting audits

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills

  • People-oriented with the ability to foster a work environment of open communication, trust, support, and active employee participation.

  • Independent decision-making skills required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates judgment, tact, and professionalism in dealing with other healthcare professionals, physicians, and the public.

  • Ability to problem solve using practical problem solving methodology

  • Ability to establish success metrics and coach others to achieve them

  • Ability to manage employees working at multiple locations

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and access to transportation and have the ability to travel throughout the geographical area of the physician network
