Hours: Full Time, working Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Position is currently on-site with opportunity to work from home (remote) in the future.
About The Job:
Responsible for ensuring compliance of coding through auditing, training, and monitoring Clinic coding staff
Conducts quality monitoring of provider documentation and code selection
Acts as mentor and coach for coding staff
Provides or facilitates training opportunities
Serves as member of the Clinic Support Services Department Leadership Team and Clinic Compliance and Integrity Team
What we are looking for:
Education [formal]:
College coursework in coding, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology
Current coding certification required (or willingness to obtain within two years): Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Will consider other credentials.
Experience:
Minimum of three years coding experience
Leadership experience preferred
Special Skills and Competencies:
Self-motivation and ability to remain objective in conducting audits
Critical thinking and analytical skills
People-oriented with the ability to foster a work environment of open communication, trust, support, and active employee participation.
Independent decision-making skills required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates judgment, tact, and professionalism in dealing with other healthcare professionals, physicians, and the public.
Ability to problem solve using practical problem solving methodology
Ability to establish success metrics and coach others to achieve them
Ability to manage employees working at multiple locations
Must possess a valid driver's license and access to transportation and have the ability to travel throughout the geographical area of the physician network
