Presbyterian Homes and Services Infection Control and Prevention Specialist in Marion, Iowa
Presbyterian Homes & Services - HallMar Village in Marion, Iowa, is seeking an Infection Control and Prevention Specialist for our team. This is an opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to monitor and advice on infection control measures established through organizational policy and procedures in coordination with the PHS Clinical teams.
Reporting Structure: The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist reports to the Clinical Administrator.
Schedule / Hours: This is a full-time position working 30 hours per week.

HallMar Village is a joint ministry of Mercy Medical Center and Presbyterian Homes & Services. This senior living community will offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartment homes as well as long term care suites. With the Village Center at its heart, the community offers inviting and comfortable living spaces along with outdoor elements including patios, courtyards, gardenening spaces, and walking trails.
The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist is responsible for implementing the infection prevention and control program and education. The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist uses clinical knowledge and specialized training to coordinate, deliver and maintain efficient and effective infection prevention and control programs and conducts infection control research and serves as a consultant to other departments to ensure compliance with evidence-based infection control standards. The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist provides clinical education to employees with the goal of providing services excellence and decreasing the risk of infectious disease transmission.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a licensed nurse in the state in which you practice.
2+ years of healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
Certification in Infection Prevention and Control or ability to obtain immediately after hire.
Knowledge in the field of infectious disease and epidemiology.
Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.
Demonstrated ability to write and implement policies and procedures. Ability to apply experience with technology and IT based instruction.
Must have or willing to obtain CPR certification.
Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; adaptability, flexibility, and creativity. Ability to communicate with a variety of people.
Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies
Demonstrates competency in teaching and applying adult education.
