- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A reasonable degree of proficiency in word processing
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of common office equipment and machines.
- Working knowledge of computers and their usage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- To support all Board and administrative policies of the school district at all times.
- To act as liaison between principal, staff, students, and public.
- To perform the usual office routine and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run office.
- To receive and route all incoming calls, deliver messages, get absent student assignments, and meet the public.
- To maintain a log of visitors to the school.
- To collect and receipt all incoming money which may include book rental, activity pass purchase, lunch or student fundraisers and keep the pass list updated.
- To prepare daily and weekly student and parent bulletins of upcoming activities.
- To do word processing, copying, and render miscellaneous assistance.
- To issue student passes (tardy/absent).
- To maintain all student and attendance records, as well as requests.
- To assist the principal with reports as needed.
- District communications and notifications.
- Finding substitutes for middle/high/specials teachers.
- Assisting in banquet/award (athletics, academics, graduation)
- To work with Business Office staff to make sure cash boxes are ready for athletic events and other activities, etc.
- To find gate workers and print programs for home athletic events.
- To distribute daily prescription medications and assist with sick and injured students during nurses absence. Obtain medical prescription certification.
- To schedule and coordinate athletic physicals for students when given at the school by the local medical clinic, compiling the physicals with the insurance and release forms along with checking the physicals against the team rosters to make sure all athletes have a completed physical on file.
- To assume such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the secondary school principal,school counselor and athletics/activities director.
- To work with the Athletic Director as their secretary and assist in athletic schedule development and maintenance throughout the school year.
