Summary About the Position: Lakenheath Elementary School is located at RAF Lakenheath in East Anglia, UK. The base is about 80 miles northeast of London and about 25 miles northeast Cambridge. Responsibilities Provide information to students, parents, staff and others, and to ensure adherence to school's policies, procedures. Receive visitors and answer phone calls to direct inquiries to the appropriate person. Use office automation equipment and software to prepare a variety of documents in final form. Use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and correspondence procedures to prepare material such as worksheets, notices to parents, and other official documents. Education Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: 1) Qualifying based on education alone: Education may be substituted for general experience with 2 years (60 semester hours) of education above high school. 2) Qualifying based on a combination of education and general experience: A combination of education and general experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of undergraduate education by 60. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of undergraduate education is equivalent to 30 semester hours. Selective placement factor: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Status candidates subject to the 5 year overseas rotation, who are currently overseas, must have enough time to meet the initial tour stated in the job announcement. Waivers may not be granted to meet the 5 year limitation requirement.
