We have an exciting opportunity for a social work or human services student to intern at ChildServe! What You'll Do

  • Shadow BH Manager in tasks related to Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic Administration including attendance at multidisciplinary meetings, documentation review, advocacy and more.

  • Provide administrative support to program team members including data tracking and review, co-facilitation, organization and more.

  • Learn about clinical program development and apply skills across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Become involved in and contribute to organizational committees such as Trauma Informed Care, Diversity and Inclusion or others.

  • Research topics of interest for families/patients and staff.

  • Use research to maintain parent handouts and develop presentations.

  • Observe assessment and therapeutic sessions within psychology and mental health to identify treatment providers for psychological disorders and the training required for each.

  • Present and share information orally and in writing.

  • Office and administrative support tasks related to maintaining an outpatient therapy practice.

    What You'll Need

  • Current enrollment in a master’s or bachelor's level social work or human services education program (your program must allow supervision by an LISW). Master's level preferred.

  • Effective communication and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently with basic verbal and written instructional guidance from others.

  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.

  • Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and Child

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.

  • Ability to interpret and follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.

    Schedule/Time Frame

  • Schedule negotiable with Supervisor; varied morning, day and afternoon/early evening availability is ideal.

  • Year round opportunities available

    This internship is an unpaid opportunity. The role can be offered to those applicants seeking course credit and/or specific college internship requirements.
