About the job:

Under general supervision, provides primary healthcare and performs approved medical services under the direction of a clinic physician.

What you will do:

  • Provides direct patient care as defined by state licensure requirements.

  • Performs patient physical exam, elicit medical history, record findings on progress notes, prepare and dictate discharge summaries for the physician-employer.

  • Assesses, diagnoses, and treats medical and surgical problems and records the same for review by the supervising physician.

  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, removal of foreign bodies, aspirations and other clinical procedures.

  • Provides prenatal, postnatal, and obstetrical care as directed by the supervising physician.

  • Performs office surgical procedures such as skin biopsy, ingrown toenail removal, incision and drainage of abscesses, arthrocentesis and mole removal.

  • Cares for orthopedic problems such as strains, sprained dislocations and simple fractures.

  • Performs and/or screens special medical tests such as electrocardiography, cardiac monitoring, radiography, audiometric and vision screening, tonometry, lumbar puncture, and pulmonary function tests.

  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding physical and mental health on matters such as diets, disease, therapy, normal growth and development.

What we are looking for:

  • National certification and current license in state (Iowa/Nebraska) to practice as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner.
