About the job:
Under general supervision, provides primary healthcare and performs approved medical services under the direction of a clinic physician.
What you will do:
Provides direct patient care as defined by state licensure requirements.
Performs patient physical exam, elicit medical history, record findings on progress notes, prepare and dictate discharge summaries for the physician-employer.
Assesses, diagnoses, and treats medical and surgical problems and records the same for review by the supervising physician.
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, removal of foreign bodies, aspirations and other clinical procedures.
Provides prenatal, postnatal, and obstetrical care as directed by the supervising physician.
Performs office surgical procedures such as skin biopsy, ingrown toenail removal, incision and drainage of abscesses, arthrocentesis and mole removal.
Cares for orthopedic problems such as strains, sprained dislocations and simple fractures.
Performs and/or screens special medical tests such as electrocardiography, cardiac monitoring, radiography, audiometric and vision screening, tonometry, lumbar puncture, and pulmonary function tests.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding physical and mental health on matters such as diets, disease, therapy, normal growth and development.
What we are looking for:
National certification and current license in state (Iowa/Nebraska) to practice as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner.
