    Behavior Analyst SUMMARY:The behavior analyst will use best practices and research to identify, treat and investigate emotional, social, educational, and mental health issues in students. The function of the behavior analyst is to work with staff to help support students in developing new behaviors, modifying existing ones, and exhibiting behaviors under specific conditions. They may also help with supervision and evaluation of special education programs. They will also work to identify, develop and sustain support systems for students and families in addressing behavioral health needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to develop and implement programs utilizing best practice for students with autism and other disabilities

  • Collaborates with staff to support students with intensive behavior needs in the school setting.

  • Collaborates successfully with teachers, staff, and administrators to understand and implement student behavior responses and intervention.

  • Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments in collaboration with Heartland AEA staff.

  • Supports the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.

  • Facilitates development and implementation of MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Supports) interventions, which addresses questions 3 and 4 on the pyramid model.

  • Facilitate the collection and analysis of student achievement data and implementation of Professional Development.

  • Support the mission and vision of Dallas Center-Grimes Schools.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Masters degree in School Psychology or Social Work

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA) preferred, but not required

  • Appropriate Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) Licensure and/or Iowa Board of Behavioral Science Licensure

  • B-21 School Psychologist Endorsement, B-21 School Social Worker (Master’s Degree in Social Work), or ability to obtain Statement of Professional Recognition from Iowa Board of Educational Examiners

  • Master’s Degree and Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA) licensed by the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science, preferred

  • Hold a current driver’s license

  • Criminal Background check for hire

TECHNICAL SKILLS/REASONING ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with adult learners.

  • Demonstrated ability to use appropriate technology to retrieve, develop, process, store and present data.

  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.

  • Ability to define problems, and collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, while leading a group of problem solvers.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality within and outside the school district and work collegially with all staff members.
