What You Will Do :

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Director will provide project leadership, client management, and strategic guidance in support public health engagement across Guidehouse’s Health and Human Services (HHS) portfolio. The Director will be responsible for leading a team of consultants and public health professionals capable of addressing a broad spectrum of public health, mental health, and substance abuses challenges and priorities. The Director shall combine their expertise and experience in behavioral health, problem solving, strategic thinking, and training and technical assistance to design and deploy impactful technical approaches and framework that meet or exceed client and project requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and proactively address client needs by presenting potential solutions to challenges or issues

  • Effectively and concisely communicate and present information to client and leadership

  • Develop high-quality presentations which effectively communicate key objectives and facilitate discussion across multiple stakeholders

  • Develop and ensure quality deliverables

  • Maintain security and privacy of all data handled

What You Will Need :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience

  • Prior experience working with federal, state and local, and/or non-profit substance abuse and behavioral health organization(s)

  • Prior experience managing and owning internal and/or external client/ stakeholder relationships and the ability to interpret their needs into actionable deliverables.

  • Ability to provide examples of initiatives developed around solving systemic behavioral health issues by leveraging analytical, problem solving and excellent communications skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and proven abilities to work successfully as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback; providing guidance, clarification, and feedback to others

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) and/or Board Certified Diplomate (BCD) in Clinical Social Work

  • Familiar with US Department of Health and Human Services and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) organizational structure, culture, programs, and public health initiatives

  • Familiar with the process and requirements to become an Accredited and Certified Opioid Treatment Program (OTP)

  • Experience working within or in support of a Certified Opioid Treatment Program

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Ability to identify and address client needs

  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Suite, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills

The annual salary range for this position is $142,300.00-$284,500.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
