Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an accredited two year Ultrasonography program.

  • Within six months of hire obtains and maintains active registry status in ARDMS, minimum registration in OB/GYN and certification in nuchal translucency measurements.

  • Participates in professional society.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs ultrasound exams, procedures and reports on scheduled shifts.

  • Provides care to obstetrical.

  • Works within a sterile field as needed.

  • Provides patient/family or caregiver education and bereavement counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams and procedures. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner. Orders supplies and restocks rooms.

  • Maintains and operates clean equipment and transducers according to procedures.

  • Complies with all regulatory agency recommendations and guidelines.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient/personnel information.

  • Ensures the appropriate consents and/or declinations are obtained.

  • Submits accurate and complete information to ensure documentation for services performed.
