Description:

$10,000 Sign on Bonus

Maintains and is proficiency with all cardiac ultrasound equipment and procedures performed at Mercy.

Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure.

Performs cardiac sonography procedures using sterile technique in the OR setting.

Uses the Hospital and Department information systems to complete patient testing records and billing procedures.

Transports and manipulates patients as necessary to complete echocardiography studies.

Monitors patient status during testing.

Injects ultrasound contrast media when indicated.

Maintains department records.

Demonstrates customer service/interpersonal skills.

Covers on-call shifts as scheduled including nights, weekends and holidays.

Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.

Completes department competencies in the required timeframes.

Assists with the evaluation and maintain adequate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Performs QA activities as directed.

Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

Maintains a clean and well-organized work environment.

Assists in answering the phone

Any other duties as assigned.

High school graduate or G.E.D.

Graduate of an accredited 2-year Cardiac Sonography training program or an equivalent on the job training program.

ARDMS registry as a Cardiac Sonographer. Preferred in the first year of employment.

Mandatory Reporter within 3 months of hire.

Current BCLS certification.
