Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care program; one year of program completed.

  • Successful completion of Respiratory Care Department orientation.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Graduated from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program-credentialed as RRT .

  • Perform Pulmonary Function testing on Adult patients-(CPFT, Methacholine Challenges, FeNo testing, disability testing) no prior pft testing required.

  • Six-minute walk testing

  • Multiple pulse oximetry testing

  • Altitude Simulation testing

  • Assisting in arranging for patient oxygen, nebulizer, vest devices with patients chosen DME Inhaler, Acapella, PEP device. Disease specific Education

  • Troubleshooting RT equipment

  • Rooming patients get patients ready for the providers.(EMR & Billing)

  • Pulmonary Phone triage

  • Paperwork- CMN’s, PA’s
