    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Medical Assistant works as part of the medical office team performing those clinical and clerical duties necessary to prepare patients for a visit, and to make reappointments when necessary.

    SCHEDULE AND PAY

    This is a full-time (40 hour) position.

    Clinic Open: Monday – Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday 8AM – 5PM, and Saturday 8AM – 12PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview.

    Pay offer is based on education, certification and experience:

  • Non-certified MA pay range: $18-20

  • Licensed/certified MA range: $20-23

    DUTIES

  • Obtain medical and/or social history and all vital signs and measurements as needed.

  • Clean, stock and sterilize any and all equipment and rooms.

  • Prepare specimens for processing.

  • Ensure patient confidentiality, and provides patients with needed information.

  • Pull, prepare, and file medical charts, and maintain smooth patient flow throughout clinic.

  • Gather patient information, record charges, indicated on the encounter form.

  • Prepare routine procedures as required per patient visit (including EKGs, PPD placements/readings and immunizations).

  • Assist provider with complex procedures (including minor surgeries).

  • Distribute medication to patients as directed by nursing staff and/or providers.

  • Schedule appointment as necessary and completes any necessary paperwork for such visits (including referrals and follow-ups).

  • Check laboratory controls, receive results and draw blood.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Medical Assistant Registration OR graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish) desired

  • CNA certificate minimum.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
