Actalent Clinical Analyst in Coralville, Iowa


-Participates in collecting and processing specimens (e.g. blood) according to test requests.

-Operates laboratory equipment required to examine clinical specimens. utilizing: Thermo cyclers, Nucleic acid extraction instrument, Other molecular equipment such as PCR, qPCR

-Produces reports based on laboratory test results to help in further diagnosis.

-Adheres to relevant policies and ethics for clinical laboratory testing.

-Discusses major factors that can affect the accuracy of laboratory test results.

-Operates and calibrates laboratory equipment.

-Utilizes quality control techniques to monitor and maintain laboratory equipment.

-Examines laboratory sample collection, handling and analyzation procedures.

-Operates quality testing equipment and verifies collected data.


PCR, Biology, Qpcr, DNA Extraction, Molecular Biology, Chemisty, Biochemistry, Cloning, Nucleic acid extraction, Rtpcr, Microbiology, Real time pcr, Western blot

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, Clinical Lab Science, or Biology (would consider other degrees likely as well - chemistry, biochemistry). Would consider new graduates in a Life Science Field.

-Most important that candidates have exposure/experience with PCR or qPCR

Preferred: Six months to one year of relevant laboratory experience.

-Must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing. (Most general science/lab based science degrees meet this requirement)

-OFFICAL college transcripts are required in the sub package before an interview can be set.
