Trinity Health Radiographer Assistant PRN in Clinton, Iowa

Description:

Under limited supervision of a licensed radiographer the radiographer assistant performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The radiographer assistant is responsible for assisting members of the imaging team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. The radiographer assistant is trained to use a wide variety of radiographic equipment, computers, and software.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current participation in radiology classes and clinical rotations.

  2. Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.

  3. Must have knowledge of basic radiology procedures and have documented competency validation on all applicable modalities from the educational program. advanced knowledge of radiation safety standards.

  4. Must demonstrate the ability to exercise professional judgment in dealing with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.

  5. Must be competent and thorough in performing job functions to all age groups.

  6. Must display satisfactory customer relation skills consistent with Mercy mission, values, and expectations.

  7. Must display behavior consistent with ARRT standards.

  8. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

  9. Must have knowledge of the different software programs.

  10. Working weekend, holiday, and rotating shifts as well as on-call is required.

  11. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.

  12. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  13. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
