Position Purpose

This position works Monday – Friday, no holidays. Provides Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to all referred patients. In addition to wound care, administration and monitoring of oxygen within the services scope of practice. Uses the nursing process to implement, direct and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes; works collaboratively with all other disciplines at assigned unit.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct initial and ongoing age-specific assessments in designated time frames.

  • Registered Nurse to evaluate effectiveness of plan of care and modifies, as appropriate. LPN to follow Registered Nurses patient designated plan of care.

  • Involve patient/family/significant other in developing plan of care.

  • Provide care based on scientific principles/nursing theory and evidence-based practice.

  • Prioritize nursing actions, reflecting patient needs, acuity, and desired outcomes.

  • Implement physician orders accurately within appropriate time frames.

  • Preparation of all patients for treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active registration for Licensed Practical Nurse - Board of Nursing, State of Iowa.

  • Must complete Hyperbaric and Dewar Oxygen Systems free e- training 40-hour hyperbaric course if assigned.

  • Wound Care certification preferred but not required.

  • Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.

  • Wound, hyperbaric, clinic or bedside nursing experience is preferred.
