Description:
Position Purpose
Under the general direction of a provider, prepares patient for exam or procedure. Communicates effectively with clients and clinic staff regarding education, treatment and client concerns. Schedules all tests and surgeries. Ages served range from newborn to geriatric.
What You Will Do
Prepares patient for any procedures and assists with the procedures/treatments as needed and within the scope of their experience and licensure.
Provides age specific education/information to patient and family members.
Gives injection requested by physician.
Prepares, administers, and records medications in accordance with the scope of license and under the supervision of the physician.
Schedules tests, procedures and admissions outside the Clinic as directed by the physician.
Cleans and stocks patient exam rooms, instruments and supplies throughout the day.
Answer’s patient questions as necessary and appropriate.
Provides follow-up and returns patient calls. Mails letters to patients when unable to reach by phone, to notify they must set up appointment to receive test results.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
Certified Medical Assistant, currently certified. If not currently certified must complete within one year of hire or transfer.
Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
