The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for all physical logistics activities including warehousing, receiving, packaging, shipping, and milk run. This position requires effectively and efficiently managing the flow of materials throughout the extended value stream, ensuring adequate flow and personnel to meet demands of all physical logistics and customer needs while optimizing logistics costs by applying continuous improvement processes. The Logistics Supervisor will oversee physical logistics related personnel planning, and operational functions and will work with team members to support company strategies while administering company policies consistent with Bosch Rexroth’s standards.
Lead and develop key Lead associates and associates in warehousing and physical logistics teams.
Create and drive plans for continued improvements of logistics processes.
Direct and manage the policies, objectives and initiatives established by the Charlotte plant and Bosch Rexroth Corp.
Drive and champion best practices across all physical logistics processes to achieve business plan and operational targets.
Provide strategic guidance, information and feedback for team decision making.
Hire, coach and mentor direct reports.
Communicate key initiatives, direction and vision to internal and external stakeholders.
Identify connections between situations and key issues in complex situations.
Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
Ensure adequate logistics performance to satisfy both internal and external customer needs.
Actively market and promote plant operational capabilities and quality standards.
Ensure adherence to existing work standards and processes to meet quality targets.
Set priorities in an effective manner to assure completion of all assignments successfully and within allotted time frames.
Collaborate effectively and productively with other functions and stakeholders as part of a team.
BS degree & minimum 3-5 years prior Logistics or equivalent experience.
A comprehensive knowledge of lean manufacturing (BPS), lean logistics, and modern manufacturing concepts.
Effective interpersonal and supervisory skills
SAP MRP experience; MS Office proficiency
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and experience in using problem solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Why, CIP
Outstanding leadership characteristics and follow-up to ensure successful implementation
High level of teamwork, customer focus, and initiative
