UnityPoint Health Inpatient PMR - Physician - Waterloo/Dubuque/Cedar Rapids, Iowa in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
UnityPoint Clinic is searching for a full-time Physiatrist to join the UnityPoint Health—Allen and Finley Hospital PMR physician team.
Join an outstanding interdisciplinary PMR team that includes 5 physiatrist and is growing. We are currently providing multi-region physiatry coverage for three established acute inpatient rehabilitation facilities as part of UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Allen Hospital in Waterloo, and Finley Hospital in Dubuque. We are looking to add physician to Allen and Finley Hospitals, specifically with a full-time position to support continued growth within the regions.
The Allen Hospital IRU is a 12-bed unit and Finley Hospital is 10 beds.
This position would be based in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls or Dubuque market. Both rehab programs are dedicated rehab units located within acute care hospitals and have the support of hospitalists, medical and surgical specialties 24/7. There is also an opportunity to develop an outpatient practice and do EMGs.
In this role, you will partner with and be supported by the PMR physician team at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids and Allen Hospital, Waterloo.
Hours: typically, are 8am-4:30pm, excellent work-life balance. The schedule will include some weekend and holiday call rotation with the physicians based at St. Luke’s and Allen Hospitals.
This is a full-time position with full benefits; Medical, Dental, 401K/457b, PTO, CME funds

As a physiatrist within the CARF accredited inpatient rehab units, you will be able to practice broad physiatry skills and have the opportunity to provide care in a team-based environment.
Oversees the decision-making process for admission and continued stay of the persons served on the inpatient rehabilitation unit
Actively develops ongoing relationships with stakeholders including patients, families, physicians, payers, and staff.
Participates in performance improvement activities
Participates in program development and modification as well as involvement in educational development of program personnel
Keeps informed of the acute inpatient rehabilitation policies and procedures of the program.
Participates in rehabilitation outcomes measurement and management activities.
Demonstrates knowledge and use of evidence-based practice within the acute inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Actively participates in strategic planning for the growth and development of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Works with the Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to establish written policies and procedures that identify the functions and responsibilities of rehabilitation physicians who provide treatment on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Participates in development, modification, and deletion of rehabilitation programs
Demonstrates ongoing relationships with the medical community.
Participates in building relationships with our variety of stake holders: referring physicians, hospitals, insurance companies, case managers and discharge planners. Assist in the marketing and promotion of the acute inpatient rehab program.
Board certified or Board Eligible in PMR
Hold an unrestricted license
Authorized to work in the United States
Ability to work as a team member
