Summary of Role

As the Logistics Coordinator this individual will report to the Senior Manager, Logistics. You will be responsible for planning of daily operations and cost controls for our overland/over-the-road freight business for North America. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to supply chain services, freight vendor management, full truckload, less than truckload and intermodal delivery modes for our residential and commercial business channels. Develops and implements logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs within budget constraints. Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs. Participate in financial reporting and reconciliation of annual spending objectives. Interact with vendors and peers in Warehousing, Sales, Finance, Product Development and Project Management personnel to optimize systems and procedures. Engage with team stakeholders to select, develop, and evaluate process improvements to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports development and execution of operational performance, financial goals, and growth plans with peers and Directors

  • Ensures daily shipping activities are executed with accountability for performance shortfalls –develops corrective action plans when performance falls below the target

  • Optimize short- and long-range freight and asset pools objectives for the region and national execution

  • Build and improve relationships with suppliers of services –carriers, third-party logistics companies, etc. to improve execution performance

  • Evaluates market conditions and anticipates changing trends within the US freight market affecting cost or performance

  • Ensure efficiency and quality goals are attained at each delivery location through on-time delivery, damage-free and complete orders

  • Participate with account management in the development of strategic goals and key performance metrics to ensure process commonality and continuity across regions for individual customers/industries

  • Drive standardization across freight execution procedures

  • Participates through innovation on freight process enhancements through continuous improvement for higher quality and lower cost customer service

  • Responsible for delivering site budget against the plan, forecasting and developing pricing models

  • Assists in contract negotiations

  • Responsible for managing project from conception to delivery

  • Collaborate to define goals for the project team

  • Conduct formal presentations internally and externally to all levels of individuals

  • Collaborate with change agents to establish commitments and accountabilities

  • Develop and implement communication plans regarding organizational change

  • Effectively lead, facilitate, and organize change

  • Applies advanced knowledge and teamwork skills to resolve common and complex business and technical issues.

  • Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements.

  • Meets weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual key performance metrics for operations

  • Supports attainment of annual budget objectives, including quarterly plans and annual budgets

  • Interacts with third-party logistics teams and/or individual contributors

  • Works daily with warehouse outbound shipping and third-party logistics team as well as internal operational team members

  • Works internally and externally, ensuring that decisions are reached through effective and mutually beneficial collaboration

  • Demonstrates leadership in applying SunPower values and inspiring others in the team to do so

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3 or more years of experience in logistics operations, domestic or international OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in transportation management including procurement, performance, routing and operations management, truckload and les than truckload, logistics analysis and design, intermodal (air and ocean) operations

  • Expertise with transportation management systems

  • Experience in process improvement and project management

  • Advanced experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project

  • Expert level experience with MS Excel

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple site budgets

  • Warehouse knowledge including production and labor planning/optimization, warehouse management, and distribution and inventory management

  • Experience with business development and contract negotiations

  • Six Sigma certification

  • Experience with QlikSense and ERP systems

  • Advanced data analytics knowledge
