The Ames National Laboratory is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the Division of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE). Successful candidate will work with research groups to develop quantum materials/devices and advanced electron microscopy techniques. The incumbent includes
initiate, design, and perform chemical and structural analysis of materials from the micro- to atomic-scale for qubit.
perform advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies using aberration corrected (scanning) transmission electron microscopy and spectroscopy.
Help with day-to-day oversight of activities on SEM, FIB, and TEMs, including training of new users.
Preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience on aberration corrected TEM, electron energy loss spectroscopy, in-situ TEM, advanced imaging processing, and semiconductors devices.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques.
