Environmental Health and Safety Intern Requisition ID: 26488 Job Location(s): Ames, IA, US Job DescriptionThis position (together with the Sr Environmental Health and Safety Engineer provides environmental, health, safety, leadership to the site. Position is responsible for: supporting site ISO 14001 and 45001 activities; assuring accurate and complete Environmental Health and Safety reporting of metrics; completion of required training. Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.Support and/or participate on Continuous improvement activities such as: Kaizen, cost out.Supports creation of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.Performing ergonomic assessments and providing technical guidance to employees to minimize risks associated with material handling, repetitive motion and workstation design.Conducting internal safety health and/or environmental audits to verify compliance levels.Support and/or participate on ISO 14001 and 45001 Certification activities.Developing EHS policies/procedures/systems and ensures that requirements are effectively integrated into standard operating procedures.Background and SkillsRequired (basic) qualifications:Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical fieldPreferred Qualifications:Pursuing a bachelor's degree in safety engineering/management, environmental engineering, industrial hygieneJob Criteria:Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.Work well as a team member and leader.Strong project management skills and bias for delivering results.
