Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Animal Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa seeks applicants for a 9-month Term (non-tenure-track) Assistant Teaching Professor with 95% responsibilities in student advising and teaching and 5% service. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an effective teaching program with introductory courses and laboratory sections related to food animals and advanced food animal science courses where expertise permits. Further, the candidate will be expected to contribute robustly to undergraduate advising, student mentoring, student club advisement, and efforts related to student retention.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants are required to have a Master of Science in Animal Science or a related discipline and practical experience in food animal production and/or companion animal sciences
Candidates should address each of the following in their application materials to demonstrate their current ability or potential ability to develop:
Evidence of effective teaching and communication skills;
Experience with career mentoring or academic advising of undergraduate students;
Demonstrated success in collaborative work environments;
Involvement in Animal Science related undergraduate clubs and activities;
